Los Guys don't need a second guitarist. But holy crap, it's fucking amazing when they do.

Tonight Jim was back with the band - the first time I've seen him since 2006. Although I actually saw him with Los Guys back then, my memory is really hazy, and as such really just think of him in the more laid back settings that I've seen. But god, did he wail! With Zubs at the helm and behind the axe, you don't need anymore to be satisfied, but with that said, hopefully this signals the the return of Jim Beach to Los Guys. It's been a while since Josh has last played with them, and the dueling guitar thing really takes things to a whole nother level.

Bachman's band was cool, and it was cool to see Iccard up there with them and have a brief chat with him afterwards.

Tramps did a ridiculously fun set, with a lot of older songs I haven't heard in a while. Their set turned into a fun, Yucca free for all, with almost everyone on stage by the end. Fun times were had by all.

There was no shortage of rain tonight, and boy, did the Yucca parking lot look like a swimming pool before we left.

Don't Change 4 Me

Recycling Songs Is Good For The Environment

Thanks to a Google alert...

Matthew Moon: Check out my song, "Don't Change 4 Me," on the Gin Blossoms new album, "No Chocolate Cake".
There you have it, anyone can cash in on the Gin Blossoms name.

This guy recorded and released the song two years - which was used and featured in promos for the Canadian Olympics. Yep, the song has already had a life two years ago, yet - the Gin Blossoms still recorded it for their album. Y'know, the one that has a whopping 10 other tracks of "their own songs". Y'know, err, such a high volume of "their own" (god, a term used lightly) tracks that it's acceptable to also include someone else's song that has already been recorded and released.

Recycling at it's...err...best.

I'm so glad to see that so many unknown artists (Matthew Moon, Susan Sandberg - who has been playing up her songs "on the Gin Blossoms record" for years) are able to cash in on and leverage off the Gin Blossoms name. Talk about just plain fucking sad.

I'm disgusted by this, and that's not even touching on how it's by far the most disgusting song on this album. More on that and my discovery of the song being included on the album at the conclusion of The Chocolate Cake File.

For now, let me say: It's time to amputate your weak ass plan.

A Mess Of Awesomeness

Nachos @ Teakwoods

Browsing Stinkweeds and tromping around in the desert can really work up an appetite. Since we were in the Indian School area, we found ourselves at Teakwoods pretty easily. [wink]

So aside from the music, here's what I love about Teakwoods - the food is freakin' awesome. Lately I've noticed a trend with nachos at many places, presented in a gourmet like arrangement, and tasting somewhat bland. But not at Teakwoods. You're served up a mess of awesomeness. No fancy arrangement, and nothing but awesome tasting nachos.

And that's exactly the way I like it. [smile]
